I write as a proud American from a family of combat veterans. I, like the great majority of Americans, have not risked my life as those who fought - and fight – for our freedoms have done, are doing, and will do. Please let the voices of Americans who have not served and never will serve in combat be heard with the passage of such legislation as our way of saying thank you to those who have.
